A history of Oxford PHAB Club
The following is a very brief history of the club, and is still being
developed. I hope to hang some pictures and more info off this page later.
Still to go into these pages are several holidays since I joined the club,
plus all that went on before I became a member.

Almost every year has included the Heartbeat Hike, a sponsored walk around Hyde Park arranged by PHAB South East.
Over the years we have been on many trips on Preserved Railways and Simon has written about
it and provided some pictures
1981
Club founded, initially meeting at the Ormerod School, but moved to Wesley
Memorial Church after a few meetings and has met there ever since.
It is affiliated to PHAB England
which was formed in 1957 as a spin off
from the British Association of Youth Clubs.
1989
Club Holiday at Butlins Southcoast World, August 12th to 19th
1990
Club Holiday at Butlins Southcoast World.
1992
Club holiday in Holland, April 18th to 26th.
1993
Weekend break at Butlins Southcoast World, September 24th to 26th.
1994 to now
Canal barge holidays, Isle of Wight trip etc etc.
1996
Day trip to the Isle of Wight, August 10th
Holiday on the Oxford Narrowboat Trust, the Venturer
Our own minibus !!
A day trip to Drayton Manor
1997
Holiday to the Stackpole Centre in Pembrokeshire. It rained quite a bit,
but we still swum, abseiled and had a good holiday.

Back to the Stackpole Centre, with less rain this time !

A trip to Blackpool to see the illuminations

A holiday at the Mersea Island Festival where we mixed with other groups and had a great time.
2003
Another holiday at Mersea Island
2004
No big holiday, but the usual club nights, and a trip to Bournemouth and a day out on a steam railway.
